The whole-body approach to point-of-care ultrasound

The Whole-Body Approach

Whole-Body Approach (WBA) to point-of-care ultrasound is a systematic multi-organ ultrasound examination that typically includes thoracic, cardiac, limited abdominal, and vascular evaluations. We explore the cardiac evaluation further and invite you to download our free cardiac quick guide below.

Quickly evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment for better outcomes

It’s about faster decisions.1

When starting a WBA examination, fundamental skills in ultrasound are needed to perform such a cardiac evaluation, which focuses on the basic critical care echocardiography (CCE) examination, and it’s five standard views1:
⦿ Parasternal long-axes
⦿ Parasternal short-exist
⦿ Apical four-chamber
⦿ Subcostal long-axis
⦿ Inferior vena cava long-axis views

It’s about better outcomes.
A clinician’s tools for WBA are essential. At FUJIFILM Sonosite, Our P5-1 transducer, featuring anatomical M-mode, is the go-to for cardiac evaluations to evaluate for fluid responsiveness. And for those clinicians using TEU at the bedside, the T8-3 transesophageal transducer is ideally suited for cardiac and cardiac resuscitation when accuracy matters in critical moments.

It’s about time.
With WBA, it’s about faster decisions, it’s about better outcomes - and ultimately - it’s about time. To help you navigate the cardiac evaluation more successfully, FUJIFILM Sonosite created a cardiac quick guide download.  This general overview of basic cardiac ultrasound imaging will enhance your evaluation and calculation skills performed in the acute care environment.

Download your cardiac quick guide today. An essential tool for your WBA evaluations.
