What is the Whole-Body Approach?

Point-of-care ultrasound is often compartmentalized such that the clinician will focus on one body system while performing a critical care ultrasound examination. Instead of this compartmentalized method, the Whole-Body Approach (WBA) is a systematic multi-organ ultrasound examination that typically includes thoracic, cardiac, limited abdominal, and vascular evaluations.1

When diagnosing a patient, time is not always on your side. The Whole-Body Approach can help you make accurate decisions in patient care.

Questions often arise on how, when, and where to incorporate the Whole-Body Approach into our daily front-line practice and perform that paradigm shift from compartmentalized to systematic. We invite you to download the article, A Whole-Body Approach to Point of Care Ultrasound, which dives deeper into these questions using real case scenarios.

Inspired, informed, and improved by thousands of hours working side-by-side with clinicians on the front lines of medicine. FUJIFILM Sonosite point-of-care ultrasound systems incorporate advanced image clarity, to give clinicians confidence for diagnostic and procedural applications.
